Part of a letter in rhymed prose, in praise of righteousness, in which Hezekiah b. Solomon, seeks the help of the recipient. It is probable that several copies of this letter were prepared, as a long space was left on line 22 for the addressee’s details to be inserted. In this case, the addressee is Joseph ha-Kohen ‘the pious’, and this name was clearly added later by another hand using a different ink; with an allusion to Jeremiah 31:30.
