<p style='text-align: justify;'>Part of a beginning of a letter, c. 1040 CE, written by Abraham b. Solomon b. Judah, on behalf of his father, to Ephraim ‘he-Ḥaver in the Great Sanhedrin’ b. Šemarya, in Fusṭāṭ, in which Solomon introduces the bearer of the letter, Samuel b. Sahl, from the land of Ḵorāsān (i.e. Khurasan, NE Iran), who has shown the Gaʾon a letter of recommendation from Saʿadya b. Moses, a merchant from Seville, Spain. </p>
