<p style='text-align: justify;'>Part of a letter, c. 1025 CE, from the Jewish community in Ashkelon, to the two holy congregations in Egypt, (i.e. the Palestinian and Babylonian communities in Fusṭāṭ), mentioning how the new governor of Ashkelon, Abū Ḥarīʿ, and the elder of the city, Abū Ḥarīz, are favourably disposed towards them, and asking that the elders of the Karaites (probably the Tustarī brothers), ally with them. </p>
