<p style='text-align: justify;'>Letter from Labrāṭ b. Moses Ibn Siḡmār in al-Mahdiyya to his younger brother Abū Zakariyya Judah b. Moses Ibn Siḡmār in Fusṭāṭ, congratulating him on the birth of his firstborn. He encourages Judah to continue his study of the Mišna and Talmud, but recommends that he not neglect the study of Arabic calligraphy. He also mentions that Ayyūb b. Tamīm, ruler of Tunisia, had appointed Zakkār b. ʿAmmār as Nagid of the Jewish community in Sicily. He discusses the trade between Tunisia, Sicily and Egypt, describes the bad political state in Tunisia, Sicily and Spain and mentions efforts to redeem a Bible codex which was stolen during the invasion of Tunisia.
