<p style='text-align: justify;'>Prenuptial agreement, in the form of a statement made before the court, for Ṭoviyya b. ʿEli b. Ḵalaf (known as Ibn Zaffān ‘son of a jester’) and Faʾīza bat Solomon b. Nathaniel, dated Kislev, 1359 of the Seleucid Era (= 1048 CE) in Fusṭāṭ. Ṭoviyya promises to give up his drinking companions and dissolute ways after marriage. He also promises not to buy himself a female slave without Faʾīza’s express permission. Witnessed by Samuel b. Abraham and Solomon b. Munḏir.</p>
