Faraḥ, who is known by his Jewish name Obadiah b. ʿUlla, as the Jewish leader in Syria issued by the court of Al-Malik al-Afḍal ʿAlī (the eldest son of Saladin). The document praises Obadiah and states that Obadiah will be the head of Rabbanites, Karaites and Samaritans in the Damascus area.</p>
