The books include: one work by Yūḥannā ibn Māsawayh; Aristotle, De Anima; al-Ṭabarī, Firdaws al-Ḥikma (‘The paradise of wisdom’); Ibn Jumayʿ, Kitāb al-Irshād (‘The book of guidance’); Ibn al-Jazzār, Kitāb al-iʿtimād (‘The book of confidence’ aka ‘The reliable book’), and Kitāb al-iʿtidāl fī quwā al-adawiya (‘The book of the balancing of the strength of medicine’); Al-Rāzī, Kitāb al-Ḥāwī fī l-ṭibb (‘The comprehensive book on medicine’); Al-Māwardī, Kitāb al-Ḥakīm (‘The book of the wise’); Hippocrates, Aphorisms; Avicenna, Kitāb al-Ishārāt (‘The book on directives’); and the Epistles of the Ikhwān al-Ṣafā’ (‘The brethren of purity’).
