Cairo Genizah : Hebrew Bible; Targum Onqelos; Tafsīr of Saʿadya Gaon

Cairo Genizah

<p style='text-align: justify;'><p>Exodus 3:3-16 (folio 1); 4:10-18 (folio 2); 14:8-15:9 (folios 3-5); 39:21-37 (folio 6). Folio 2 is the most torn and missing one column. A blank line marks the paraša petuḥa after Exodus 4:17 (folio 2v). Most of line blank between Exodus 14:25 and 26 (folio 4r) with ה̇ד̇ in the margin. In order to preserve the scribal layout of the Song of the Sea (Exodus 15:1-18), the Targum Onqelos and Judaeo-Arabic Tafsīr of Exodus 14:28-15:26 follow the Hebrew version. The text contains many abbreviations and some marginal notations. The text is conserved out of order, and encompasses passages from Exodus 3:11-39:37. The order are as follows: Exodus 3:3-9 trilingual (P1 back); Exodus 3:9-16 trilingual (P1 front); Exodus 4:11-14 trilingual (P6 front); Exodus 4:14-18 trilingual (P6 back); Exodus 14:8-13 trilingual (P2 back); Exodus 14:14-21 trilingual (P2 front); Exodus 14:21-28 trilingual (P3 back); Exodus 14:28-15:14 in Hebrew only (P3 front); Exodus 15:14-26 in Hebrew only until line 21 which has Exodus 14:28 in Aramaic and Judaeo-Arabic (P5 back); Exodus 14:28-15:14 Aramaic and Judaeo-Arabic only (P3 front); Exodus 39:21-29 trilingual (P4 back); Exodus 39:29-37 trilingual (P4 front).</p></p>
