Cairo Genizah : Piyyuṭ; lexicography

Joseph b. Abitūr, Joseph b. Ḥayyim al-Baradānī

Cairo Genizah

F. 1r and 2v: piyyuṭim. F. 1r starts with a Judaeo-Arabic header “we wrote” and contains petiḥot by Joseph b. Abitūr, the first of which is ברוך אשר אשש. The piyyuṭim on f. 2v are in a different hand and include a nišmat and a yoṣer for Sabbath אזכיר חסדי by Joseph b. Ḥayyim al-Baradānī. This page also starts with the header “we wrote”, which here seems to be a later addition in a different ink, followed by a now illegible comment in Judaeo-Arabic. F. 1v, beneath a large letter מ contains a list of various words beginning with מ. Beside each word, different grammatical forms of the word (with prefixes and suffixes) are listed as they are attested in the Bible, with glosses in a different hand. F. 2r contains a brief list of concordances for the books of Daniel and Ezra on the Hebrew roots, again, dealing with words beginning with מ.
