Cairo Genizah : Masora

Cairo Genizah

Masoretic work on accents. The fragment begins with a chapter on tevir and merḵa which occur in the same word. The text is similar but not identical to Aaron b. Ašer, Diqduqe ha-Ṭeʿamim (Baer-Strack 1879, ・20; Dotan 1967, ・4). This is followed by an explanation that the author began in Hebrew before switching mid-sentence to Judaeo-Arabic. In one case the spelling שוא is corrected between the lines to שבא.
