Merlin Fragment : Micro CT scan of the binding structure
Merlin Fragment
<p style='text-align: justify;'> 3D model combining Micro-Computer Tomography imaging (using X-rays) with photogrammetry (measurements from photographs by capturing images from various angles) published in Sketchfab (MP4 video). This model utilises advanced segmenting structures to separate different materials within the manuscript, such as the thread used in the binding. By digitally removing the book and leaving just the thread, the model provides a clearer view, enabling precise viewing and facilitating more accurate research.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Computer Tomography:<ul><li>3D CT-scan (X-Ray) using a Nikon X-Tek 225 H Micro-CT scanner with a 2885x2885 pixel detector panel.</li><li>Scan resolution set at 0.08866809 mm for each axis (X, Y, and Z), yielding approximately 11.28 voxels per millimeter.</li><li>X-ray Settings: 125 kV (kilovolts) and 170 µA (microamperes).</li></ul></p><p style='text-align: justify;'><iframe width="600" height="480" src="https://sketchfab.com/models/6398790310cc4fc99ef87942f44f59ba/embed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" mozallowfullscreen="true" webkitallowfullscreen="true" onmousewheel=""></iframe> <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='https://sketchfab.com/models/6398790310cc4fc99ef87942f44f59ba?utm_medium=embed&utm_source=website&utm_campain=share-popup'>Cambridge University Library, MS Vanneck Box 5a, Micro CT binding</a> on <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='https://sketchfab.com?utm_medium=embed&utm_source=website&utm_campain=share-popup'>Sketchfab</a></p>
