<p style='text-align: justify;'><p>This monument is described by RCHME as a ‘rectangular clunch wall tablet with achievement of arms of Wise impaling Hutton’. Francis Wise was a lawyer but no Cambridge connection is shown by Venn though John Wise, believed to be his son (and responsible for this tablet), was admitted a pensioner at Peterhouse1577.The Wise family was renting land in Cherry Hinton in 1652 and at Enclosure in 1810 was awarded 70-100 acres. Francis Wise (1513 – 1589), his father and other family members are buried in the church.</p><p>RCHME 1959; Saunders P pers comm; VCH 2002</p></p>
