Relhan Collection : 204 Haslingfield Hall. Bird’s eye view of, with outbuildings including a dove-house

Relhan, Richard, 1782-1844

Relhan Collection

As often in Relhan’s drawings the scale is confusing. The parkland outside the moat is now developed for houses to N and used for public recreation and a wildlife site to W. The circular C17 red brick dovecote is still on its original site but has been converted for residential use. It has fish scale roof tiles and a conical roof with cupola. There is a cart pulled by 2 horses that again holds the blue-coated man who looks like Relhan senior. A board on the side reads I. Prime Haslingfield, Camb shire and is the sort of cheap transport the Relhans may well have used for travel. Before partial demolition of the Hall.
