Relhan, Richard, 1782-1844

Relhan Collection

Citing Blomfield’s manuscript collections, the Gentleman’s Magazine 1799 records an inscription in the E window of N aisle to Henry and Elizabeth Collard which it associates with arms blazoned as ‘Or, three blackmoors’ heads couped’. The glass was still in place when Bell visited. The heads of 3 Africans in profile can be seen in the top of the window at E end of N aisle.

Bell 2013; Bingley and Cockerill 2006; Saunders P pers comm
