Cavendish Laboratory

This was one of the larger laboratories into which the Cavendish expanded when the Engineering Department moved to its new building in Trumpington Road. It housed many experiments and some important equipment, such as the annular magnet and the ionization chamber with a scale-of-two counter. The researches are (left to right) Mohr, Lupinsky, Goldhaber, Pringle, Dee, Birtwhistle, Gilbert, W.B. Lewis, Carmichael and Bennet. Snapshot by C.E. Wynn-Williams.
