<p style='text-align: justify;'>Piotr Kapitsa in the Mond Laboratory in 1934. 1934 was the year in which Kapitsa was detained in Moscow and not allowed to return to Cambridge until 1965. Stalin ordered the building of an identical (somewhat enlarged) building to the Mond Laboratory in Moscow. Rutherford agreed to construct copies of his apparatus at a cost of £30,000. These were sent to Moscow. Cockcroft played a major role in organising the production of the duplicate apparatus.</p>
