<p style='text-align: justify;'>Norman Feather assisted Chadwick in his discovery of the neutron in 1932. During the Second World War, he was responsible for running the Laboratory and the Tube Alloys activities in the Laboratory, the aims of which were to develop British nuclear weapons. With Bretscher, he discovered theoretically the potential of plutonium as a source of nuclear energy. He became Professor of Natural Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh after the War.</p>
