<p style='text-align: justify;'>Sir Joseph John Thomson was Cavendish Professor from 1884 to 1918 and Master of Trinity College from 1918 until his death in 1940. His most famous work was the discovery of the electron in 1897. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1906 for his work on the conductivity of gases. In 1912, he and Aston discovered the non-radioactive isotopes of neon.</p>
