Cavendish Laboratory : Cloud chamber tracks obtained by Kapitsa

Cavendish Laboratory

In 1924 Kapitza constructed a modified cloud chamber which fitted inside his coil, so that he could observe the curvature of α-particles tracks in very strong magnetic fields. He measured the value of e/v along different parts of their ranges, particularly their final deceleration at the ends of the tracks. (https://doi.org/10.1098/rspa.1924.0090)
