<p style='text-align: justify;'>The original plan was created in 1936 soon after many departments moved from the New Museums Site to the Downing Site, leaving only the Cavendish Laboratory, Physical Chemistry and Zoology in their old buildings (Longair, 2016, p. 570). It was then revised in 1939 as shown in the photograph, after the Mathematical Laboratory, the future Computer Science Department, was established and housed in a building next to the Corn Exchange.</p>
