<p style='text-align: justify;'>Black and white half length photograph of Mrs Horton (formerly Miss Ann Catherine Davies) seated, taken for inclusion in a volume for a presentation to Chadwick on his 70th birthday. Mrs Horton was the first tenured woman lecturer in the Cavendish Laboratory. In 1939, she became the second wife of Professor Frank Horton with whom she had collaborated since a research student at Royal Holloway College.</p>
