Cavendish Laboratory : External view of Cavendish with Payne's pond

Cavendish Laboratory

External view of the Cavendish Laboratory with Payne's pond in the foreground. This is an early image of the Mott and Bragg Buildings seen across Payne's pond. Brian Pippard proposed the name Payne's Pond to honour John Payne who supervised the very complex move of the Laboratory from the New Museums site in central Cambridge to West Cambridge.
