<p style='text-align: justify;'>Sir Joseph John Thomson was the Cavendish Professor from 1884 to 1918 and the Master of Trinity College from 1918 untill his death in 1940. He is most famous for the discovery of the electron in 1897 and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1906 for his work on the conductivity of gases. Photography by Lafeyette in 1933.</p>
