<p style='text-align: justify;'>Rectifier tube from Cockcroft and Walton's 1930 accelerator. This rectifier is the only relic which has survived from the Cockcroft and Walton experiments of 1930 and 1932. It can be seen in the photographs of the 1930 experiment (P558).</p>
