Cavendish Laboratory : Moving antenna of the 38 MHz aperture synthesis survey telescope.

Cavendish Laboratory

Moving antenna of the 38 MHz aperture synthesis survey telescope. This telescope operated in the same fashion as the 4C interferometer, but at the lower frequency of 38 MHz. The 38 MHz interferometer was constructed to complement the observations made at the higher frequency of 178 MHz with the 4C and 4CT interferoveters. This combination of source intensities provided spectral information about the properties of the radio sources.
