The pioneering EDSAC computer was used by the theoretical physicists, the Radio Group and the MRC unit for biological systems. The image shows the leader of the project Maurice Wilkes (left) with Bill Renwick. The image is from October 1947 and was considered by Wilkes to be the first official view of EDSAC, 18 months before the computer operated for the first time.</p>
