<p style='text-align: justify;'>Colour photograph of the 2C radio interferometer on the rifle range site, showing two of the cylindrical paraboloid antennae. This telescope, completed in 1954, made the famous Second Cambridge (2C) survey of radio sources and found a huge excess of faint sources as compared with the expectations of uniform world models.</p>
