<p style='text-align: justify;'>In the late 13th c. BCE a dog-leg extension, to the north-eastern section of the citadel walls, included two 'galleries' or passageways. The southern one, the Sally Port, led out southwards to a terrace above the Chaos ravine. The northern one, a corbelled passageway that pitches steeply downhill, led to a subterranean cistern.</p>
