<p style='text-align: justify;'>Photographs of activities of the North-west Epidemic Prevention Bureau Vaccine Production Institute (Xi bei fang yi chu yi miao yan jiu suo 西北防疫處疫苗研究所), Lanchow (Lanzhou) 蘭州市, Kansu (Gansu) province 甘肅省. They were probably taken by Gordon Sanders, a member of staff at the SBSCO / Sino-British Science Co-operation Office (Zhong ying ke xue he zuo guan 中英科學合作館), who visited Lanchow in the summer of 1945. Dr. Needham had visited the NWEPB previously during his journey to the North-west, on 29th August, 1943 (see journal <a href='/view/MS-NRI-00002-00005-00012-00001'> (NRI2/5/12/1)</a>) (and NW photos <a href='/view/PH-NRI-00002-00010-00001-00001-00002'> (NRI2/10/1/1/2)</a>).
