<p style='text-align: justify;'>4 photographs with accompanying text given to Joseph Needham by Tseng Sheng (Zeng Sheng 曾省, 1899-1968), an entomologist at Szechuan University (Si chuan da xue 四川大學), while Dr. Needham was Director of the SBSCO / Sino-British Science Co-operation Office (Zhong ying ke xue he zuo guan 中英科學合作館) in Chungking (Chongqing) 重慶市, China from 1943-1946. They depict Professor Tseng taking part in an educational campaign to promote improvements in tobacco growing to farmers near Chengtu (Chengdu) 成都市, Szechuan (Sichuan) province 四川省 under the auspices of the Agricultural Promotion and Improvement Committee of the Executive Yuan, National Szechwan University and Nanking University (Nan jing da xue 南京大学).
