<p style='text-align: justify;'>The title of this six volume book can be translated as ‘Horse banners of the feudal lords’. It was compiled by Kyūan 久庵 (Yoshida Mitsuyoshi, 吉田光由1598-1672). It is printed in black and coloured inks, with gold and silver leafs later added by hand. Yoshida Mitsuyoshi was a wasanka 和算家 (mathematician), who published Jinkōki 塵劫記 in 1627, which was considered one of most important books of wasan 和算 (the native mathematics of Japan).</p> <p style='text-align: justify;'>Among the six volumes, the first volume of Oumajirushi includes horse banners of the Tokugawa shogunate family and their three branch families. The fourth volume includes the banners of the families of famous rulers, such as Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1537-1598) and Oda Nobunaga (1534-1582).</p>
