Cambridge, David Loggan / Henry Overton, ca. 1715.

David Loggan died in London and was buried on 1 August 1692 at St. Martin in the Fields. He left debts of £140 with “little remaining substance left except a few copper grav’d plates”. These plates were sold to John Overton whose stock was in turn taken over by his son Henry. It was Henry Overton who in ca. 1715 reprinted Loggan’s 1688 map of Cambridge in a reissue of Cantabrigia illustrata, the work in which the map had first appeared.
