<p style='text-align: justify;'>This is an Italian edition of Sacrobosco's <i>Sphaera</i> with theological annotations by Maurus Fiorentinus (Mauro da Firenze; 1493-1556). The work was dedicated to Cosimo I de' Medici. Sacrobosco's material sphere is shown in the armillary sphere with an ornate wooden handle. Here the Arctic and Antarctic circles, tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, the equinoctial circle, and the ecliptic circle (as a band with zodiac signs) are indicated, as well as the poles of the World and of the ecliptic. The Earth is at the centre.</p>
