This is an Italian edition of Sacrobosco's Sphaera with theological annotations by Maurus Fiorentinus (Mauro da Firenze; 1493-1556). The work was dedicated to Cosimo I de' Medici. The armillary sphere, originally showing Sacrobosco's material sphere is now used to show a 'theological, Christian and divine' sphere. The Arctic and Antarctic circles, tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, the equinoctial circle, and the poles of the World and of the ecliptic are still indicated, but it shows a figure of the crucified Christ in the centre, rather than the Earth.
