All the objects illustrated in this album were excavated in 1939. However only one, a terracotta moulding from the Hellenistic theatre, was drawn in that year, by the site architect Arnold Silcock (MCNE-2-3-13-07). The majority of small finds illustrated here were drawn by P. de Jong in 1955. They had been excavated in 1939 in the Prinaria, along with the plaster head of a man, MCNE-2-3-13-01, drawn by C.K. Williams in 1957. The Prinaria, located within the citadel at the north end of the Archaic Temple’s foundations, was also the find site for the ivory figural trio (MCNE-2-2-03).
